This book is truly a perfect pairing of storytelling through words and pictures to engage young students. In addition to the well-written story, the book follows the unique black-and-white art that this series is known for. The protagonist, a carrot-loving rabbit, is convinced that he is being haunted by the carrots from the field where he takes them, and quickly devises a plan to put an end to it. ![]() While it seemed like a great friendship, in the beginning, Jasper soon learns that the Creepy Crayon is not the friend he needs. Creepy Carrots by Aaron Reynold is a treat It is the perfect mix of spooky and silly. ![]() However, it doesn’t take long before Jasper realizes the crayon is ALWAYS around! Moreover, the crayon is doing all of Jasper’s work. Anytime Jasper has difficulty with something the crayon is there to help him out. However, when he comes across a perfect purple crayon everything begins to change.įirst, the changes are for the best. In the beginning, Jasper is flunking art. We made a creepy pair of underwear on Halloween Day at school, but did not get a chance to do the carrots. In this book, Jasper gets himself into a bit of a pickle with a crayon. When I found out about these books last year, it was right before Halloween, so it was really too late to share the ideas that my teammate Jeff and I developed.
